Picnic fare will be served at 1pm. BYOB – No glass containers.
$5/single
$10/per couple or family
Please RSVP to: Lisa Nutter by July 25th – please be sure to advise the number of adults and number of kids (and their ages) that will be attending.

Starting out around 10 or 11 am on Saturday, Sept 14th there will be a ride to the LU 3657 picnic in North Park. If you are interested in joining please contact Pam DelBianco by September 3rd.

The District 10 Family Picnic is Sunday June 9th, 2013. Discount tickets are available for purchase from Barb Pugliese in the Accounting Department (11th floor). Tickets are $19 each – cash or check. If you are paying with a check please make the check out to “District 10 Recreation Committee”

A few weeks ago we learned that this year’s United Way pledges from the USW staff are down more than 20% for the year. Need in our community, meanwhile, is through the roof. I don’t have to give you statistics or numbers to let you know that people in our community are hurting, just look across the street from our building at about 6 o’clock every day. Five years ago we would see a dozen or so people in line as the local churches distributed free meals and essential supplies. Now we’re seeing crowds of 100 or more standing out in the cold every night just to get a warm meal. Continue reading
Sisters and Brothers,
On October 24th, Hurricane Sandy made landfall on Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Haiti killing at least 64 people and leaving tens of thousands homeless. By October 26th the storm moved to Cuba killing at least 11 people and causing more than $2 billion in damage. On October 29th Hurricane Sandy made landfall on the United States battering the US Coastline from Virginia to Massachusetts. Over the following days the storm moved inland across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and much of New England.
