Please sign any online petition or sign any letter that opposes current FAST TRACK legislation !!!
This legislation, FAST TRACK trade authority cuts out Congress from the negotiating process, limiting its ability to influence decisions that will have real and significant impacts throughout our state and nation. It will send more of our jobs overseas.
It is time for a new approach to trade where we all can benefit. Unfortunately the current FAST TRACK proposal does not achieve that goal. We strongly urge our members to oppose FAST TRACK !

Our local, so far has generated 42 letters on the Trans-Pacific Partnership Free Trade Agreement Action Call. We have around 200 members. I know more are in the building. Thank you to the members that have returned the letters and I certainly hope the rest of us get them in. On the TTP phone call Action reminding members to call their U.S. Representative on the Rapid Response hotline at 1-877-879-8951. Enter your zip code and you’ll be connected to your Representative. Follow the prompts. Once connected, tell the staff person who answers: Your name, where you’re from and that you want your representative to oppose Fast Track legislation.
Members from local 3657 joined more than 600 other Steelworkers from the United States and Canada for the Rapid Response and Legislative Conference last week in Washington DC. The conference started with a day of plenaries and workshops from the Good Jobs Green Conference, the BlueGreen Alliance’s annual legislative conference. The rest of the week was Steelworker-focused with guest speakers, panel discussions and workshops all centered around union activism and the theme of the conference — Investing in America’s Infrastructure. Check out the slide show of photos from the conference by clicking here for day one and here for day two!
Please take the time to watch this video and share it as well. The video is less than 4 minutes and it is simple and to the point. This is exactly the message we need to spread across America. Buy American made products! Thanks – Andy Z.
